Inside the Studio :
Material Choices for the SEED TO SUNSET Jacket

It begins with the choice of material.
This season’s collection, SEED TO SUNSET, is inspired by the natural flow of change.
Life begins with a seed, and eventually comes to an end.
Each day also begins with the morning light and moves quietly toward dusk.
Within this unchangeable flow, to simply take in each moment as it is - there is beauty in that.
In searching for a material that reflects this idea, what mattered most was the fabric’s natural character.

Among many samples, we looked for something with minimal processing—
a fabric that allows its true texture to remain.
That search led us to the hemp-cotton fabric used in this piece.

A natural blend of hemp and cotton.
It offers breathability and moisture control, along with a soft hand feel.
The hemp-cotton used here is produced in Japan and carefully finished over time by skilled artisans.
Worked slowly in small batches, it develops a natural softness and texture.
Handled without unnecessary tension through finishing and drying,
it takes on a washed, slightly vintage-like character.
Left undyed, the cotton fibers remain visible,
giving each piece subtle variations rather than uniformity.
It was this quiet irregularity that drew us in.
With wear, the fabric continues to evolve.
Its character builds over time -
until it becomes uniquely yours.
