Inside the Studio :
Embroidery and the Story of SEED TO SUNSET

For this jacket, embroidery was not simply a decorative detail, but one of the ways we chose to express the theme of the collection.
How could we leave the idea behind SEED TO SUNSET within the garment itself? The embroidery grew from that question.
The phrase SEED TO SUNSET reflects our thoughts on beginnings and endings, and the time that exists in between.
Just as morning light gradually gives way to evening, there is a quiet sense of continuity in nature, where beginnings and endings are connected.
For this collection, we found ourselves thinking about the passage of time and the cycles that shape it.

The motif we chose to express that idea was coral.
Coral is formed slowly over long periods of time. New life grows upon what came before, layer by layer, as part of an ongoing cycle.
As we developed the SEED TO SUNSET theme, there was something about that way of existing that felt naturally connected.

For this jacket, embroidery is placed on both pockets. The size and placement of each motif were carefully adjusted with the overall balance of the jacket in mind.

The thread color was selected from a palette of more than 750 shades, considering both the fabric and the overall character of the garment.
From a distance, the embroidery remains subtle. Up close, its details and texture begin to reveal themselves.

For the neck label, rather than attaching a separate woven tag, we chose to embroider the SOSSNA&CO MADE IN JAPAN signature directly onto the fabric.
It is a detail that may not immediately catch the eye, but it reflects our desire to create consistency in both the materials and the way the garment is made.
The embroidery on the SEED TO SUNSET Jacket is a small detail, but it carries the ideas behind the collection and our approach to making things.
As the jacket becomes part of everyday life, we hope it will gradually settle into the wearer’s routine and be enjoyed as part of the passage of time.
