Detail Choices for the SEED TO SUNSET Jacket

One of the key inspirations behind this jacket was the French work jacket.

From the late 19th century to the early 20th century, work jackets were widely worn in France by railway workers, factory workers, and craftsmen.

Relaxed silhouettes designed for movement.
Durable stitching made to withstand repeated wear.
Large pockets and practical details shaped around everyday functionality.

These elements were not created as decoration, but were born from the rationality of clothing made for work.

At the same time, French work jackets also carry a certain lightness despite their utilitarian background.

Originally made as garments for labor, they naturally blended into everyday life much like casual clothing.
Perhaps this came from the culture of urban workers in France at the time, as well as a distinctly European approach to garment making.

With this jacket, we wanted to reinterpret that atmosphere into something that feels natural within modern daily life.

For the fabric, we selected a hemp-cotton blend.

Combining the durability, breathability, moisture-wicking, and antibacterial qualities of hemp with the softness of cotton, it is a material well suited to everyday wear.

Life by the coast changes constantly through sunlight, humidity, and wind.

Something light enough to let air pass through on hot days, and easy to throw on casually.
This fabric felt naturally suited to that kind of coastal lifestyle.

The large front pockets and double stitching were also inspired by the practical details found in French work jackets.

The pockets were adjusted to comfortably fit a smartphone in a natural way.

We imagined something easy to wear while walking by the coast or stepping outside without overthinking it.

Double stitching was applied around the sleeves, pockets, and collar.

The intention was to allow the jacket to gradually soften and adapt through wear, while still maintaining its shape and structure over time.

For the buttons, we selected Japanese bamboo buttons.

They carry the soft texture unique to natural bamboo, blending naturally with the washed texture of the hemp cotton fabric.

With continued wear, the color deepens gradually and develops more character over time.

We created this jacket by carefully considering each detail, hoping it becomes something people can wear casually in everyday life while enjoying the subtle changes that come with time and wear.
